Music Writing with Artificial Intelligence

To write music with AI, the process is the same as with other image generation models, because a piece of music, is just a spectrogram. Yes, that music player visualization that everyone had in the 90's.The amazing team at Riffusion, have created an awesomely good music generation software that uses spectrogram analysis to generate new pieces.https://www.riffusion.com/As the Riffusion Githob page says:--Riffusion v1 ModelRiffusion is a latent text-to-image diffusion model capable of generating spectrogram images given any text input. Predictive AutoScaling with Artificial Intelligence

If you are running Docker instances, Kubernetes, migrating to AWS, GCP or whatever big data critical movement, you know you have a problem, a performance problem.Today's engeneers have what they only dreamt about in the past, the possibility to not have to improve the code, at critical moments, and be able to devise a good strategy with time, and a good plan, to make sure that the budgetary CTO's vigilance procedures don't encounter objections to growth. To improve the decision making of when to scale on resources, it that machine learning can help us predict, the moment of high demand, and scale up, or save resources when demand is low.Incoming API request, system miss-usage, intensive reporting queries and customer demands all compete for our DB's, Servers' and data transfer resources.  Predictive Autoscaling Medium ArticleSo for the companies that were at the past decade testablishing themselves as resource risk tranference incumbents, the competition will now become the one that makes the best CPU per dollar usage.AMAZON EC2 AutoscalingUsing Machine Learning for Black Box Autoscaling PaperWhat's the next frontier?

Why we write our posts in english?

The reasons we write our posts in englishSearches in english language inside the uruguayan territory are scarcer than the ones in spanish, thus less competition for the search space.English language has almost no strange characters, and where it does, they can be easily replaced by a formal, longer form, making HTML render better on some browsers and devices, making it less prone to an ugly experience.English language translates really well into every other language, and your browser knows where you are positioned, offering you immediate, artificial intelligence assisted translation, unless you do not use a modern browser. Most of the terms in tech space are in english.Let us know on a comment, if this post is translating well, or really badly. Also blogger posts are ranked very nicely on your searches. We know all of this, because we have validated it. And we just got our 10th direct call for an implementation of a Machine Learning project we had to decline because our calendar is so full right now.True story.Be kind to others

AI for Diversity

Came across this post on the Social Network the other day. So apart from loving the 257 guide with notes on popular and not so popular algorithms, I got interested in the purpose behind this.So AI4Diversity introduces themselves as "... a nonprofit global initiative that advocates for more open source AI projects and data sharing."With 23K followers on LinkedIn, their purpose is to spread the knowledge and make AI an available resource for everyone. To know more about them, visit their website and signup to the organization, with no cost, so you too can become an ambassador of this movement.Link https://www.ai4diversity.org/

Remote as a benefit

Forcing workers back into the offices, while the pandemic is still real, could be a great push for remote work. Companies that offer remote work, could be capitalizing soon on this as a benefit, for a generation of workers that value geographical freedom.25% of workers, is what's estimated, that could do their jobs remotely, and these last years (2020/2021) have taught us that remote worked well for a lot of people that could deal with it, and it provided companies with the validation of a lot of assumptions and theories about what would happen if everyone had to work remotely. So now that we know, that economies were mostly impacted by forced lockouts than by lack of mobility, we could also learn from that, and induce that forcing people back into the office might also not be a good idea. Remote work is becoming a benefit for workers, and an incentive for companies, especially for those where trust is common. So to shift into the remote culture with ease, we also need to build cultures of trust.DOCUMENTATION - DISCIPLINE - ORDERThese values can build trust, but there is another one that can be achieved by choosing the right work tools, and enables the 3 above.TRANSPARENCYBeing able to visualize work, to report on it easily, and to collaborate by breaking silos, is what distinguishes good from great companies. So when we design services, we take transparency as a value that has a transofmative effect on the people that complete processes, that provide deliverables, and that are what makes a company.Companies are made of people, human centered design is key to connect to people's needs, and having constant supervision, dos not rank very high on Maslow's pyramid of human needs, WiFi ranks higher.

What is semantic search?

What is a semantic Search Engine?Via tokenization, and Computer Vision, we can tag and insert references based on a determined accuratcy, for identifying objects and people on a given input and produc a tagged frame sequence as an output.Let's take the example of http://whichframe.com/This is a service that allows you to upload a video file, and then perform a search to tell you which frame contains a specific object. Search a video *semantically* with AI. 🎞️🔍https://t.co/9ASZ85Q5AAExample: Which frame has a person with sunglasses and earphones?Try searching with text, image, or text + image.👇 More examples[1/7] pic.twitter.com/y6OI5VDTxc— David Chuan-en Lin (@chuanenlin) April 17, 2021

Company culture is what separate great companies from the rest. And clear vision, is the basis for a healthy company culture. Lack of vision is unsettlingYou´re not going to argue with McKinsey, so let´s focus on what you can do to better communicate your vision and a clear organizational message that reduces anxiety.Make it shortMake it so short and clear that employees can remember it by heart and find it easy to do so.Make it match your missionMake sure that this vision is aligned with what you are aiming to accomplish for your customers.Say how you will get thereList the strategic actions, and the milestones that will allow you to go through your roadmap to success.Unions don´t just sprout from the etherConflict is something that builds up. It starts with an event, then turns into a pattern, and when you want to notices, it has become a relationship matter where facts don´t matter anymore.Don´t let it get ot that point. If you make sure your employees are taken care of, they will take care of your customers.Make sure you use the right Communications Management System to communicate and align your team.

The costs of developing your software

Total cost of ownershipHas your security information office read the latest guide to information security testing and assesment from NIST?Have they considered all the implications of what maintaining a functioning service means, to you, and have they prepared a plan for following the security standards and compliance, and ethical developments that will result in new requirements? What about law? GDPR? Once you have sorted that out, you will be left with some cloud providers, and now, you solved the TCO problem, but have to pay for infrastructure separately.Cost of changeOnce again, hardware not being an issue, software becomes one. Complying with new feature requirements can be tricky, not only because every line of code will require support and maintenance, but because it could complicate future integrations. We know that for a lot of complanies, webhooks is still not a thing, but it will, and having a properly documented and built API, also takes a village.Emotional CostsDevelopers, support, even sales, will become attached emotionally to their creations, and will believe that no other software provider can replace their systems, because the business is "unique", and might pass on acquiring the right tools for the right moment, or even stop using one. Also slow pace of change, is no good as it keeps staff unaware of the possibilities they are missing, and personal development opportunities could be disregarded as threats to the status quo.Who should develop software then?Software companies should be the ones developing their own solutions, no tool will remain unchanged, and your team should grow used to the only constant in this crazy world. Also, if you have a great tech team, and no one else is doing what you´re doing, you should keep at it, but recognize you´ve become a software company. Making sure your software will keep being usable, and up to date with security standards is what will make a difference.
