How to Like, Comment & Share as a Company on Linkedin in 5 Easy Steps

Introduction

Recently, I stumbled across a simple task on LinkedIn where I wanted to like, comment and share a user’s post. Unlike Facebook where you can change the user or company engaging with the post, LinkedIn does not currently have this feature.

It initially seemed impossible to do on the platform but after some digging I found a solution. I’m definitely not the first person to struggle with this so I decided to make a short, quick guide for getting around this hurdle. It’s a quick 5 step process so let’s get started.

Step 1

This only works on Desktop so put down your phone or tablet and grab your laptop or desktop computer. Log into your LinkedIn profile and click on the “Me” section of the navigation bar. Underneath your name, you’ll see two sections, Account and Manage. Under the Manage section, select the company page you want to like, comment and share with on a user's post.

Step 2

Go to the URL of your LinkedIn company’s page. Take a note of the numbers in the URL or just leave this page open in a different tab in your browser. This is your company’s ID number on LinkedIn. You’ll need these numbers in Step 4.

Step 3

Go to the post you want to like, comment and share with your company’s page using your personal profile. Click on the 3 dots in the upper-right corner of the post and select “Copy link to post”. Paste this URL into a new window or tab on your computer.

Step 4

Now add the following to the post’s URL you pasted in Step 3, “/?actorCompanyId=” and add your company’s ID number after the equals symbol. Your URL should look similar to the screenshot below. Hit return or enter on your keyboard to visit your new URL.

Step 5

You should see your company’s profile image beside the “Add a comment…” section underneath the post. You can now like, comment and share as your company’s profile.

Conclusion

You can already like, share and comment with your company on posts you've shared using the company page and on community hashtags you've linked to your company's page. The option to engage with user generated content is unavailable which seems a bit strange.

However, this little trick can be very helpful on LinkedIn to drive awareness to your company page when you engage with content on the platform and I’ve found that users visit my page and will follow it. This means users are more likely to see and engage with content you share in the future.

So, you can grow your following and brand on the LinkedIn platform which helps grow your online presence and your business as a whole. If you found this helpful, please subscribe to our newsletter below and follow us on social media to see what we get to!
