Growing Up, Living & Learning, and Building a Business & Career In A City That Seems As If It Doesn't Wish To Be Saved with Clay Edwards from The Clay Edwards Show (@savejxn) (@clay601)

Growing Up, Living & Learning, and Building a Business & Career In A City That Seems As If It Doesn't Wish To Be Saved with Clay Edwards from The Clay Edwards Show (@savejxn) (@clay601)

To get a better grasp of the depth of problems going on daily in this city I call my home, I invited and had a discussion with someone who knows some of just how far the extent of Jackson's problems run as far as a city that is you can learn more about on the SaveJXN or Clay Edwards show pages on Facebook or on Instagram. He shares all things related to life as a Jacksonian and plenty of articles, discussions, interviews, and much much more that you can use to educate yourself on the longevity and the extent of the problems that need to be addressed in our capital city. Clay Edwards, the creator behind the award-winning SaveJXN podcast, and Facebook page where he shares pressing issues, ideas, solutions, problems, and so much more from the capital city here in Jackson, MS where frankly, most of us are definitely in agreeance with the headline featured on his page: "Tired of Jackson's BS."

Please go and check out The Clay Edwards Show from 7-9 am on WYAB 103.9FM Jackson MS or listen to the same show from whatever your preferred podcast listening platform may be or click here.

Facebook Whistleblower, Instagram & Facebook Down, Facebook Stocks Drops Nearly 5% and What Business Owners & Entrepreneurs Should Be Doing To Prepare For These Moments Ahead of Time

Facebook Whistleblower, Instagram & Facebook Down, Facebook Stocks Drops Nearly 5% and What Business Owners & Entrepreneurs Should Be Doing To Prepare For These Moments Ahead of Time

"If you found yourself unable to log in to Facebook or Instagram on Monday, don't worry - you aren't alone. In this episode, I'm talking about the major outage experienced worldwide by users on Monday that lasted for quite a few hours.

(Anyone else experiences a moment where they really felt like giving their internet provider yet another call about connection issues? Just me? Damn, it must be a Comcast and Southern livin' kind-a-thing?.. anyways...)

Anyway, I'm filling you in on what's happened following the release of a 60minutes interview with a former employee, and now whistleblower regarding privacy and safety for users on Facebook (with documents she COPIED to ensure she could back her claims! (not all heroes wear capes, guys - talk about eating the rich!) The interview aired the night before Facebook suffered this major outage, which was soon followed by Facebook shares dropping by a whopping 5% in just one day's time.

Basically, in this episode, I will fill you in on all the things you should know about what happened, and also share with you some of the things you need to be thinking about, taking action on, fixing, and doing to ensure you are not only prepared for these types of situations ahead of time so you don't take any of the losses many business owners who relied on these social media platforms heavily as of yesterday did take because they couldn't sell their items, or promote their items by running ads, or even log-in."

The Importance of Setting CLEAR Expectations & Realistic Boundaries With Your Clients

The Importance of Setting CLEAR Expectations & Realistic Boundaries With Your Clients

When your working for someone else, as an employee, 9 times out of 10 there are already established rules as to how business is supposed to be done within that organization. However, as you go from working as an employee to working for yourself as an entrepreneur, you become the one responsible for SETTING those ground rules for your business and the expectations and boundaries that come with how your business functions and how it should be run.

As an entrepreneur, having gone through the motions of this process myself, I can assure you that setting CLEAR expectations and REALISTIC boundaries with clients during the onboarding process is the ONLY way to eliminate misunderstandings, stress, and the burnout for your business that you would feel if you don't layout these ground rules with your clients, to begin with. This is something that I have struggled with in the past, especially if the client was a friend or family member. I thought it would be great to share what I’ve learned thus far or to recommend my best advice and honestly I had to find the confidence in own expertise, my offer, and the advice I offered forth to my clients, to begin with, to realize there were plenty of other reasons why we as entrepreneurs can benefit from clearly defining expectations and boundaries with our clients, like the fact that clients will be far more assured of their investments, and comforted even by you laying these things out in the beginning too.

Educating clients on what you expect of them, what they can expect of you, when and how you’re going to be available, and how you can best communicate with one another is going to set your relationship up with a precedent for success and ensure that you don’t get burned out and worn out by an out of control client with unreasonable requests and last-minute demands and changes to your original scope of work.

By setting clear expectations and being upfront about what your client will need to do for you and what they can expect FROM you, will make them feel so much more comfortable in the long run, and taking the time to set expectations also reinforces the fact that they are working with a professional service provider and not an employee, buddy, or team member and that you should be taken seriously as that professional, who they hired to provide the expertise and knowledge that you have within your realm of genius.

How Can You Hit Pause and Relax Without Rewinding All Of Your Progress?

"It’s hard when you’re finding success for your business and you’re starting to feel a little drained and want to unwind and be free to just relax, it’s hard to be able to DO that and not be scared that your growing success and that your business’ progress is going to be the same way as you left it once you are ready to return to it."
