Instagram Launches Initial Test of New ‘Creator Marketplace’ Influencer Discovery Platform

TLDR
  • It’s been in development for some time, and today, Instagram has launched an initial test of its Creator Marketplace for Instagram specifically.
Brief

Much like Facebook’s Brand Collabs Manager platform, Instagram’s Creator Marketplace will enable advertisers to search for potential creators to partner with on campaigns. It’s a comprehensive tool for finding potential creative partners for campaigns, which could be hugely valuable, especially given the increasing focus on Reels, which requires in-depth knowledge of trends and usage behaviors to maximize appeal and resonance.

Could Amazon Ditch Private-Label Brands?; Bringing Super-Highway Fees To Big Tech

TLDR
  • Many Amazon private-label product lines have slow or diminishing sales. But there’s another more pressing reason Amazon might nix the entire business: It’s a major antitrust headache.
Brief

For years, Amazon blatantly favored its private-label lines. Before Amazon’s ad business really took off, it would essentially use private-label brands to test high-value impressions, such as ad units that popped up just above the fold of a page. On the antitrust front, Amazon has been caught using data from third-party products sold on its marketplace to launch near-clone versions of its own that go on to usurp the original product’s search ranking on the platform.

Snapchat for Web Debuts

TLDR
  • When Snapchat introduced its Snapchat+ subscription service late last month, it said the $3.99 per month would give users access to a collection of exclusive, experimental and pre-release features, and the first big one dropped Monday.
Brief

Snapchat+ subscribers in the markets where the new feature is available can go to web.snapchat.com, login with their Snapchat username and password and resume their conversations right where they left off on mobile. Access to messaging features including chat reactions, chat reply and in-chat presence, and lenses to be added soon for video calls. Calling and messaging via Snapchat on the web is rolling out Monday to Snapchat+ subscribers via Google Chrome in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the U.K. and the U.S., with France, Germany, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to be onboarded next, followed by the rest of the world.
