Engine Digital adds a VP of design in Toronto

Norma MacDonald joins the agency as its expansion plans in the city continue.

Engine Digital has hired Norma MacDonald as its VP of design, part of the agency’s expansion in Toronto.

MacDonald has been tasked with leading and growing the agency’s design group, guide design operations and contribute her expertise to work across the agency’s client portfolio.

“[MacDonald] joins us with an incredibly unique and broad set of skills, and very deep experience as trusted advisor to teams and to clients,” says Stephen Beck, CEO at Engine Digital.

MacDonald has spent seven years on the design team at Accenture’s Fjord Interactive, most recently as its group visual design director. She also has design and art director experience at Tribal Worldwide and SapientNitro.

Headquartered in Vancouver with an additional office in New York, Engine Digital has also been focused on expanding its presence in Toronto to better compete with major consulting firms. To that end, it also added a new strategy director and managing director to the Toronto leadership team last summer.

The agency’s growth is being driven by engagements with new clients such as Pernod Ricard and the NBA.
