MSL is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of world beating metrology equipment, services and software. It has over 20 years’ experience in metrology and is partnered with leading names in measurement including Creaform, Coord3, nTopology, Metrologic, Virtek and more.

Their positioning as one of the foremost experts in measurement solutions and strong UK customer base gave them the perfect opportunity to grow the business outside their core product range, developing integrated solutions for design engineers, manufacturing and quality control teams.

Challenge

Metrology is a fast growing industry, increasingly in demand and at the cutting edge of manufacturing technology.  High precision laser scanners remove production bottle necks, laser position systems practically eliminate construction errors while state of the art software enables the potential of additive manufacturing (3D printing).

The challenge was to translate an extremely complex product range into a simple, easy to understand and navigate brand.  We needed to bring together multiple products from well-known global manufacturers under the MSL banner and engage customers as a qualified expert in their field, capable of delivering a solution that helps users reduce costs and increase throughput.  I mean, who wouldn’t want that?

Solutions

Step 1 was to organise over 30 products from 7 different manufacturers into 3 simple categories: Scanners, Software & Metrology.  This neatly covered the entire product range and enabled users to quickly find the products or services they were looking for.

This translated into a fast, easy to use website, often the first point of contact for existing and new customers looking for information on the latest products.

MSL has become the umbrella brand representing the services, solutions and expertise for which it’s so well known. Taking the best metrology products from around the world and turning them into ultra fast workflows for real world manufacturing applications loved by Designer Engineers, Production Managers, and Inspection Teams.
