Another important #Tiktok update: The recent bill banning the app has passed in the Senate, and President Biden just signed the bill into a law. From here, we await TikTok’s response, and as shared previously, we suspect TikTok will sue on the grounds of First Amendment rights violations. Discussing contingency plans is critical for brands, however, as Code3 CEO Craig Atkinson shared with Reuters today, as long as TikTok's users remain engaged, advertisers are likely to stick with the platform. Important #TikTok divest-or-ban Bill update -- let's talk about it: Over the weekend, the House passed a second bill that now sits with the Senate. The bill essentially says that TikTok must be sold within a year (increased from 6 months proposed in a bill last month) to a buyer that satisfies the U.S. government. The sale would have to guarantee that ByteDance no longer has any control over TikTok or its algorithms that recommend content to users. If ByteDance cannot or refuses to sell TikTok, it would be unlawful for app stores and web hosting companies to distribute or update the app in the United States. The Justice Department could punish any company that works with TikTok or offers its app for download. However, a sale won't be simple.So what does this mean for your brand's TikTok strategy? Today, we launch a new era for Code3. 🚀 A year ago, we began to take stock of what it means to be a Coder, what it means to be a Code3 client, and how to best encapsulate the amazing work we do every day. We workshopped, we focus-grouped, we pressure tested for nearly all of 2023, and the result was clear – we are way more fun and awesome than our existing #branding and website showcased! A #brandrefresh was in order. We are saying goodbye to yellow, in favor of a more expansive and playful color palette. 💚 💙 ❤️ Our manifesto now showcases who we are at our core – confidently curious #digitalmarketers, who don’t shy away from solving challenges. Who are open to possibilities, and test our way to success. We’ve incorporated new 3D graphics, more original visuals and photography, and developed an abundance of new content that tells the stories of the business impact that we have. 📊 Our new website is a cornerstone of this refresh – aside from the technical hurdles we were experiencing, the old site didn’t do us justice, and wasn’t structured for the ways that we actually work.
