5 Ways to Refresh Your Marketing Strategy in 2023

Marketers cannot afford to be complacent in today's fast-paced digital environment. Here are five easy ways you can refresh your marketing without reinventing the wheel:

  1. Adjust Audience Targeting: Continually review your target audiences through a combination of research, performance analysis, and product/service feedback.
  2. Refresh Creatives: Update creatives every three to six months and carefully monitor frequency. By rotating in new creatives, you can keep your audiences engaged and avoid ad exhaustion.
  3. Test Messaging: Make sure your message resonates.  A/B test various copy and headlines and use AI to find the best combinations of creative and messaging for core audience groups.
  4. Optimize Your Website: Audit your website messaging versus your ad messaging to ensure they are in alignment. Also, optimize the technical user experience on your website - and don't forget about mobile!
  5. Adopt Emerging Channels: Set aside a budget for ongoing platform testing. Run test campaigns on unexplored channels and analyze your audiences' activity and engagement. Or, keep it simple and try a new ad format on a channel already in your marketing mix.

How to Uncover True Insights in Marketing Research

marketing research

Traditionally, syndicated research tools are the go-to resources to understand media consumption and behaviors. But, today's brand challenges require much more than knowing how many hours a day consumers watch TV.

So, how do you find meaningful insights to guide a successful marketing strategy?

  • Use both qualitative and quantitative research to unveil unique marketing industry and audience trends.
  • From social listening tools to focus groups to macro-level industry reports, aggregate multiple research sources to achieve a 360-degree view.
  • Take on a journalistic mentality and get creative with your research methods to discover unique insights that will differentiate your strategy.

By taking this approach, you can better contextualize the second or third party data embedded in syndicated research and build custom insights for your brand.

However, don't ignore your own powerful historical data. Evaluate what’s been successful and not in order to build upon baseline learnings.
