Based in Santa Clarita, California, Hayden prides itself in providing outstanding products with a customer-service-minded focus. THE PROJECT Hayden Medical came to us looking for a new website that best showcased their product catalog. They wanted a website that was simple, easy to navigate, provided a professional presence. One nuance to the site is the e-commerce experience. Because of the tight regulations surrounding surgical equipment, Hayden’s staff must touch base with the customer and obtain the required information. We designed a site that has an e-commerce store but ultimately relies on Hayden’s staff to complete the purchase with the customer, thereby meeting federal regulations. Our favorite part of the Hayden Medical site design is the instrument category images that our team created from scratch. It’s a little touch that showcases the custom website. Using super-strong magnets, The StudBuddy locates nails and screws used in hanging drywall. Since these nails and screws are fastened into studs, it allows The StudBuddy to quickly find studs. THE PROJECT The client’s business has begun to grow and they were ready for a professionally developed website. Further, they wanted to add the ability to sell their product directly from the website as well — instead of relying on Amazon, Home Deport, Lowers, etc. BHM has a ton of experience designing and implementing an e-commerce website so this was a perfect project for our team. We are more than 12,000 working men and women fighting for better wages, benefits, and safer job sites. Our membership is made up of a wide range of occupations—gardeners to secretaries, food service workers to nurses, custodians to 911 dispatchers, construction laborers to courtroom assistants. It is this diversity that makes us unique—it is where we get our power. As a LIUNA member, we need you, and we want you to become an active participant in your Union. THE PROJECT LiUNA contacted us about designing a new website for its members. Their current website used one of the popular “union website” template vendors. These union website companies use cookie-cutter templates that look tired and dated. The client has zero ability to customize their design and as a result, their website ends up looking like the hundreds of other websites these companies host. LiUNA needed a website that was simple, professional, allowed members access to password-protected features and had a front-end that was suitable for their marketing effort. The website we developed allows members to log into a password-protected area and view: event calendars; announcements; PDF document library (for MOU’s, contracts, etc), e-commerce integration. BURBANK CITY EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION BURBANK, CALIFORNIA CATEGORY UNION ABOUT THE CLIENT The Burbank City Employees Association (BCEA) came into existence in October of 1939. In June of 1940, the BCEA was incorporated. The primary objective was to secure Civil Service status for all permanent City employees. Representatives of the BCEA were elected from all departments within the City. The beginning of collecting, discussing, and resolving problems in the workplace was started. The BCEA is one of five bargaining unions in the City. We are the largest, incorporating more than 750 employees we bargain for and/or represent each day. We cover all the clerical, trades, and general employees – over 125 different classifications. We are the only organization that represents its members in bargaining with management for wages, fringe benefits, and much more. THE PROJECT When BCEA came to us, they needed a new website that not only publicized their organization but served as a hub for their members. Their previous website was old and outdated. In fact, their previous local web design “company” had gone out of business and abandoned them. BCEA had no way to update or even move their current website as the previous designer would not return phone calls. BHM went to work immediately to secure their domain name. One major problem was the BCEA’s domain was being held hostage by the previous company. BHM worked tirelessly to track down the previous designer and get the name transferred. THE PROJECT Our team here at BHM is extremely pet friendly, which made working on this website even better. When the client came to us, they needed a website that provided an elegant, classy, and professional feel to what can be an otherwise taboo subject. The website had to not only describe the services they offered but provide an online payment experience. BHM developed a website with a custom shopping experience. The client wanted to allow customers to pay for their pet preservation in monthly payments — either before the pet passed on or while they were still alive. The system we developed allows the customer to enter their pet’s weight and other information and the system will choose the payment plan that is applicable to their situation. The customer can then track their product purchase via their personal dashboard.
