Upcoming trends for small businesses

If there’s anything the COVID-19 pandemic has taught businesses, small and large alike, it's that digital marketing and transformation is the future. The structure of many organizations have changed over this last year and a half. It seems that what work life was like before covid will not be going back that way ever again. So what is exactly being predicted to happen even after the pandemic is over?  Working remote Allows for companies to open themselves up to new pools of workers Employees have more options and can live in lower cost areas Employees are more productive Less time commuting makes for a better work/life balance Mobile communication  People are more connected now than ever before  Banking, healthcare, and many other industries can be performed over mobile apps There are problems with people staying focused due to the increased use of mobile devices  Cloud based services Amazon, Google, and microsoft have all built cloud based technology Companies no longer have to spend millions to build data centers  Companies can add computing power and more storage as they go  Risks with cloud based service Providers can decide they no longer want your business which forces you to turn elsewhere  Ecommerce  Ecommerce is becoming a HUGE trend with boutique brands  Shopify is a powerhouse since they support many small businesses  Applepay gives boutique brands 1 click payment that is just as easy as Amazon Competition? Social media influencers  (tiktok, instagram) are not fans of huge tech companies such as Amazon which means they are highlighting smaller more boutique brands to their audiences  Payment with a device  Covid moved cashless pay to the mainstream  Easier, quicker, and more efficient  Defi Movement to make spending cryptocurrency in brick and mortar/retail stores Not a whole lot for small businesses to do with crypto currency yet but something to watch out for Post pandemic goals  2022 is going to be the year many small businesses look to as a turnaround  Growth, new products, and services By 2022 we should be seeing the work that was completed during the  pandemic coming to the surface Different revenue streams is going to be a huge trend for small businesses Pre pandemic many companies were too reliant on a single revenue stream, post pandemic this strategy is going to change so that many companies don’t face this issue again

5 steps to start achieving your goals

We all have goals. Some people’s goals are to run marathons (if your goal is to run a marathon, you have my utmost respect, and I would gladly cheer you on from the sidelines) or perhaps learn to knit (honestly knitting is super fun I recommend trying it out). Mine are to finish school and pay off the massive amounts of student debt I’ve accrued, but that’s more of a long- term goal. So what about the short term ones? Everyday it seems like life throws us a new challenge or obstacle to overcome. It can be hectic, confusing, and perhaps a bit overwhelming. There’s this quote I read a while back that said, “You can either live life cautiously or courageously.”  I don’t think one’s necessarily more right than the other, but I do think one is going to push you farther than the other. Living courageously, being bold, and taking chances are all ways to achieve those personal goals we have. A lot of my life I’ve been cautious and wary. Afraid that one wrong choice would ruin everything I’ve carefully built for myself. I put a stop to that thinking at the beginning of covid. In the words of Doris Day, “que sera sera.” I came across this article two weeks ago when researching content ideas called Life Hacks for Achieving your Goals . Achieving one's goals. Now how do we do that? I’m not going to say it’s easy because that would be a lie, but with commitment and dedication anything is possible. I’ve made a list of steps to help achieve your own goals. There isn’t a guaranteed success rate to this but personally, I’ve found this list super helpful.  Make time to think The biggest and arguably most important thing in my opinion is to make time to think and reflect. Being busy doesn’t always allow you to take this time for yourself to think about where you are and where you want to be. I recommend abandoning your normal routine and taking time to reflect. This can be daily, monthly, or even yearly to get back in touch with your goals.  Accountability Okay so what's next you're probably thinking. Accountability (yay)! In order to fully commit to your goals, hold yourself accountable, and write them down. It is scientifically proven that when we write things down, we’re more likely to remember them. According to Dr. Gale Matthews, professor of Psychology at Dominican University California, you are 42% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down. (1) Organization Next up we have organization. This is one of my favorites. Making goals can get confusing and disjointed. We sometimes forget about them or tell ourselves they’re not as important as they need to be. Categorize your goals and organize them in rank of importance. Achieving goals can seem like an intimidating task, but when we organize them and recognize their importance we’re more likely to achieve them. Timelines are key Who here is good with deadlines? I know when I set a task that has to be done by a certain time, it's most likely to get done. This applies with our goals as well. Timelines, timelines, timelines! Setting deadlines helps to keep us motivated and get the tasks done to achieve our goals. They keep us focused and disciplined while working on them and give us a framework for achieving them. Write it down Lastly, I advise that you write down your goal and then what you hope to achieve. It can be hard to visualize every step necessary to achieve a goal. So take the approach of working backwards in steps. Working backwards can help you envision an action plan and obstacles early on. It gives you an idea of what you need to do and how you can overcome obstacles in your way. Remember, reaching your goals doesn’t just happen overnight. Don’t give up on them, no matter what curveballs life throws your way.

Why you need to invest in your business

What you're losing out on by not investing in your business You did it - you decided to take the leap and start a business. And right when you’re about to celebrate you realize...you’re broke. And then you realize in order for your business to succeed,  you need to - you guessed it- spend money. If this sounds like you, you’re not alone. We see it all the time. Every day. In fact, we’ve been there before. Here’s a quote from one of our clients who was in this exact same boat: Investing in your business gives you a chance to not just survive, but to thrive. As soon as you invest, YOU become even more invested in your business - and then magical things happen. Now you’re acting like the professional business owner you always wanted to be. Now you’ll see why your digital presence and business strategy NEED TO HAPPEN intentionally in order to get the money from leads you’re missing out on by trying to do it yourself or hiring someone who's stuck in 2000 and late. So where do you invest? Here’s our top 3: Strategy : You need to clearly define your branding, message, demographic, conduct a SWOT analysis, understand your branding narrative, what makes you different, understand how to price your services, and more. Without a foundation, everything else becomes harder. While it’s best to do this from the very start, it’s never too late to give yourself a brand refresh - and relaunch. Website & copywriting: Once you have a clear strategy and understanding of who you are as a brand, you need to convey that in a smart, engaging way online. We build websites with Google’s best practices in mind, write in a way that speaks and connects with your audience, and use strategic calls to action to grab your lead before they leave. Additional support & ongoing training: When you’re up and running and business is going smoothly, this may be the point to hire some extra help. Whether it’s hiring out for social media , someone to do your books, or getting an assistant or intern, you don’t have to do it all yourself. Additionally, it may be a good time to research specialized training to improve your business, from learning how to sell, Facebook ads training, or training to improve your own skills. Let's chat to see how we can help you kick butt and reach your business goals.
