Indeed, the competition on Youtube is becoming fiercer, but what no one is talking about is Youtube optimization. Compare that to Google. You have millions of businesses that compete to get on the first position in SERPs. A client of mine said that they have a Youtube channel. Their content is very visually appealing (online courses) and they also had a Youtube channel for about 4 years before they started working with me. The lightbulb over my head went “ding” and I knew what I could do: optimize their videos to get even more traction. I did the competitors analysis, keyword research and created a list of tags. Mainly easy to rank ones, because there are a ton. With a bit of work on the copy side of things, writing catchy titles, getting the descriptions on point, and designing the thumbnails I managed to increase the number of views they get by 1,629.3%. But Youtube is not just a brand awareness tool. Around 30% of the total website traffic comes from the channel itself.
