Creative work like this is the reason I got into, and have stayed, in advertising. The Roger Christian & Company & Digital Uprise team created this visual for Armed Forces Entertainment to commemorate the anniversary of Japan surrendering at the end of WW2. After I sent out the brief for the team, Ezekiel Saucedo came back to me and called out some behind-the-scenes history associated with the famous photo showing a man kissing a woman in the middle of Times Square. Admittedly, I was stumped... Katy Bradley stepped in and provided guidance which resulted in the final piece posted today. We may not have used it in the final caption, but I think this story may best be told with the old saying, "In the Army, save one man and you're a hero. Save a hundred? Then you must be a nurse."
