Although with a toddler it’s not always the easiest thing to juggle doing while trying to pour them a bottle from a 3L carton of milk. But hey, we manage.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I finished up breastfeeding Sonny when he was Conor’s age now. I had been back at work for 7 months and had been pumping around the clock to feed him and keep up my supply. I weaned him at 14 months as we were going to begin trying for another baby. He adjusted really well and one day I just stopped offering feeds and he was fine. As time went by I really missed it and told myself that my next baby I would hopefully feed a little longer if I could.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here we are at 14 months now and there is no sign of slowing down anytime soon although as soon as I start our sleep training I will be slowly weaning him from night feeds.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At the beginning with Conor it was tough, I had cracked nipples and I was getting mastitis every second week and it got to the point they were about to send a sample of my milk off to examine. I knew I wanted to continue feeding so I wasn’t prepared to let that stop me. Conor was gaining more than enough weight so I knew I had a good supply. I know how easy it would be to give up in those first initial weeks and I know for some they have no choice but if you can persevere I promise it’s worth it. One way to combat an oversupply is breastfeeding in a reclined position. Essentials by Nature on InstagramS M O O T H I E S A T U R D A Y Today I wanted to try something a little different that was more for me than the kids! I’m making a coffee smoothie today. This recipe caught my eye due to it’s simplicity and let me tell you, it’s so good. Coffee, almond butter, dates, cinnamon, banana, hemp hearts and cashew milk. I made the same one for the kids without the coffee and just added some coco powder for them. They are loving it!! We also used oat milk instead of cashew because that’s our jam at the moment!! 📷: @vegfocus
