As we prepare to step back into the swing of things we are aware that good intentions won't help us achieve the ambitious goals we will be setting for ourselves in next week's planning session. It takes intentional, consistent steps and you know we won't be doing it alone! Our go-to resources include these four books. To quickly summerize: Who guides our hiring and career path decisions (paired with a Culture Index assessment), Traction is all about company growth, and Rocket Fuel is how we enable Torre to be the visionary she was meant to be as well as allow us to create clear areas of ownership within the team. Once our goals are clearly defined, we still need a way to make it all happen. That's where the Productivity Planner steps in and saves our sanity. Hooked On CodeCore Value #2: Authenticity 💄🤟🦹‍♀️🧜‍♂️ We talked about what he thought the other kids at daycare would say, that they might not know a boy can wear makeup, that it might hurt his feelings but it doesn’t have to, and that he can help his friends learn something new - that it’s ok to wear makeup if you want even if you’re not a girl. As I dropped him off I thought “oh my gosh I could have saved him from the mean comments if I had thought to say that there is a no makeup rule,” but I didn’t think of it, and I had no other good reason to say No when my 5 year old endlessly-loving boy asked with excitement if he could wear eye sparkles, lipstick, and cheek makeup to school today. So, here I am, at war with how right I feel reinforcing authenticity and breaking down gender norms, and how wrong it feels that by letting my son do something ‘different’ he may be ridiculed. But here we are, and I’m off to work at a company that believes whole heartedly in authenticity, even if you identify as a mermaid 🤷🏻‍♀️🧜‍♀️ #authenticitymatters #lovewhereyouwork oh and that gorgeous lip color is by @hauslabs
