You may not be spearheading the project, but taking ownership of your contribution is important. When you take ownership of all the work you do, you work better. If there is no consequence, you get lazy and overlook the small details that MUST be caught before being sent to a client. Be proud of your work and what you hand off to someone else! Even a small task should be done with full focus and effort. #marketing #marketingsuccess #agencywork

Being unorganized is a waste of time. Looking for files and images can slow down the work process for multiple people. Having folders inside folders seems redundant, but it’s crucial for staying organized. It takes a bit of getting used to and of course, a bit of time to get organized but it truly makes a difference. You may need to take an entire afternoon to overhaul your folders, but you’ll thank us later! Here’s how we organize our folders at Leverage. Client > Year > Project Name > Miscellaneous Files. Getting organized has helped us streamline our projects from one person to another. When everyone is on the same page about the organization, work gets completed much quicker and there is less communication needed.

There’s nothing worse than starting a project with zero ideas floating around in your head. Taking the time to get inspired can help you get something done faster than wracking your brain for hours. Do some research – what are others doing with this project or topic? How can I do something different than the norm based on what I’m seeing? The same goes for design, get on Pinterest, and pin away! #marketing #design

Taking notes is a MUST. If you have a task, take notes. As many notes as you can. You’ll find yourself shuffling through your notes to remember what details you weren’t able to store in your short-term memory a few days after you start the project. Digital or paper? Whatever works for you! Open up a word document or pull out your trust lined paper. Everyone has their preference, find yours! Note-taking is a great habit to start earlier, rather than later. Even if the information will be relayed to you in the future, taking notes is important for your own workflow. There is nothing more disrupting than stopping your creative work to clarify a detail you could have written down yourself!
