Why Car Dealerships need a Digital Marketing Strategy

Because your target audience is online. Just like any business, it is very necessary for Car Dealerships to have a digital strategy. Below we have listed our top reasons why  digital marketing for car dealerships is so necessary. Be Where Your Audience is Let us get this straight, you are still out there promoting your business on local TV and on the radio? That is so 2000 and late. That isn't where your audience is. They are on social media. Did you know   40% of Gen Z  users prefer using TikTok and  Instagram  for search over Google (Note: Gen Z is in their early to mid twenties). Build Trust The best car salesmen are the ones you can trust. How do you build trust? By being visible. Showing your face, building your authority, all of these things helps the audience trust you. Having organic and not overly produced content on your social channels will bring authenticity to your company. Provide Value Do your customers come in with commonly asked questions or a misunderstanding on how to buy a car? Help debunk any negative narratives by giving your audience value. This will save you time in the long run by having all the helpful information up on your social channels. Build Your Community Social media is not for short term gain, it is a long term investment. If you have an effective strategy, you can target your ideal local audience before they even think about buying a car! MG Media was chosen as one of the top digital marketing agencies by Design Rush.   If you are interested in boosting your sales with a strong digital marketing strategy, contact us!

9 Delicious Social Media Tips Restaurants Can’t Ignore

Did you ever notice what customers do while waiting for their food at restaurants?  If you didn’t yet, take a look next time. You’ll notice hundreds of heads buried in the cell phones.  Yes, many of your customers are in a parallel universe — of social media, of course — while your chef is busy preparing their cheeseburger. Social media has become everyone’s go-to spot — interestingly, not only for entertainment. Today’s customers decide what to eat and where to eat based on social media suggestions. By simply leveling up your social media game, you can have the jam-packed restaurant you’ve always wanted to. Continue reading as we spill the beans about how to have a yummy social media presence for your restaurant. #1 Leverage user-generated content Remember those unboxing videos you have been seeing on YouTube? Or that Instagram story of a fancily packed skincare product? That is user-generated content (UGC) — it is the brand-specific content consumers post on social media. UGC helps boost brand awareness, influence prospective customers, and increase conversions. Even big brands leverage UGC — Starbucks’ Red Cup Contest is a classic example.  During the holiday season, Starbucks offers drinks in their reusable red cups. Customers use these as canvases to draw beautiful designs and post on Instagram with #redcupcontest. The winner receives $500. So, encourage your customers to click pictures of your irresistible food and share on Instagram or Facebook to generate UGC. These pictures will lure more customers into eating at your food joint. You can even run social media campaigns motivating customers to share photos of your restaurants. Offer a free meal to a winner in exchange because who doesn’t love free food? #2 Seek help from influencers Yearning for more sales? Make friends with influencers. Influencers are content creators with thousands of followers — they are that popular kid in the school everyone loves to hang out with. Your restaurant can surely benefit from the influencer’s broad follower base. Approximately 60% of marketers say influencer-generated content performs better than brand-generated content.  Imagine the turn-up at your restaurant when people hear their favorite influencer raving about your delectable Cheese Overload Pepperoni Pizza! Collaborating with the influencers your customers follow is a wise way to grab attention and improve sales. That’s precisely what Oreo did — they partnered with Chiara Ferragni, a famous Italian blogger, and launched a limited edition Double Oreo capsule collection by Ferragni. #3 Collaborations for the win Remember when KFC collaborated with Frito-Lay to create the delicious Cheetos-topped chicken sandwich — a typical example of big brands’ collaborations. Collaboration is a great way to get mutual benefit in terms of more customers and sales — brands do this ALL THE TIME!  Do not forget the Uber-Spotify collab.  In 2014 , Uber & Spotify decided to collaborate to create a highly evolved customer experience and solidify their presence. Spotify impacted millions of its users to choose Uber as their preferred mode of transportation whereas Uber added value to the customers of Spotify by giving them a personalized experience. So, if there is a brand on your mind you’d love to work with, it’s high time to let them know.  Collaborations offer an incredible opportunity to create an innovative product, grabbing the eyeballs of many more customers unaware of your existence. Create a beneficial offer. Reach out to your desired brand. Share on social media. See the scales tipping in your favor! #4 Schedule in advance *1:15 a.m.* “Oops, I forgot to post… again.” OR “Gosh, I am out of content ideas.”  We often start the social media venture with great enthusiasm — only to struggle at posting consistently merely after a week. Been there, done that. Creating a social media plan and scheduling in advance is a lifesaver, though. Planning will prevent a shortage of content ideas. Whereas automating posting will save you from oh-no-I-forgot moments. #5 Please the eyes before mouth Fun fact: Food is photogenic.  This is why all restaurants have an edge over other Instagrammers — they can post visually appealing images and compel ANYONE to hit “follow.” Who would mind a beautiful image of a moist cake topped with chocolate-covered strawberry and caramel glaze on their IG feed? Such appetite-stimulating images make people place orders impulsively. So, tap into the power of good-looking food and fill your IG profile with mouth-watering images of dishes on your menu.  In fact, we recently helped our client, Gregoire Restaurant, significantly scale their social presence by yummy food photos. Our Content Creation Team specially visited their food joint to click professional pictures.  And this is the process we followed-  The results - Our content creation and engagement strategy drastically increased their profile traffic and engagement and we were so happy to see their smiling faces :) #6 Use social media for an endless mailing list Remember that spine-chilling day when Instagram went down for a couple of hours? We can’t fathom the condition of people with millions of followers! Such incidents are not an unusual sight in the digital world — but a backup plan is a must to prevent a lack of communication with the customers. *Enter Email Marketing* Email marketing is known for its high return on investment — for every $1 you spend, you receive around a $42 return. Good-old emails still stand as the preferred medium of communication — be it to inform customers about an ongoing promotion or introduce a new dish. Dunkin’ Donuts’ “DD Perks” is the epitome of a great email marketing strategy. They send weekly offers through emails to boost a sense of community and boost sales. So, use social media platforms to get people to sign-up for your engaging newsletter. #7. Give BTS sneak peeks Who doesn’t love BTS? No, not the Korean boy band! We mean behind-the-scenes content. Customers never get to see what goes on in your restaurant’s kitchen — believe us, they are curious little souls; they want to know everything! BTS videos are great for showcasing your restaurant’s values and beliefs. They portray you in a positive light and build trust, enabling an emotional connection with the customers. A few ways you can achieve that- Tell the story of your restaurant through a video Show your kitchen Bring your team to light Share your successes and failures  Show the fun side of working  So, what are you waiting for? Give your customers a little sneak peek and win their hearts! #8 Use advertising for more sales Want more customers? Advertise. It couldn’t be plainer.  Most brands utilize social media advertising to meet their business goals. Be it FB or IG ads, advertisements help you reach your specific target audience, waiting with arms wide open — and wallets, too — to make a purchase.  The best part is social media marketing offers greater control, allowing you to handpick the customers, as per age, interests, and location, you want to show your ads to. This is what we did for one of our clients, Churros Madrid. They were looking for help maintaining their socials and wanted to grow the numbers of orders that were coming in through Instagram.  They have a location-specific audience, so we made sure to track that we were not just reaching a lot of people but the RIGHT people.  The results? Orders started trickling within a month. You can even analyze the results and make appropriate changes for guaranteed success. #9 Engage with fans Customers are immeasurably happy when their favorite brands reply to their comments or re-share their stories. These simple actions can make their day go from nay to yay!  Engagement on social media humanizes you and highlights your concern for your loyal customers. Such interactions even safeguard you from sounding ‘salesy’ all the time.  Not to forget, it gives a chance to reply to negative comments — in a non-offensive manner, of course. When it comes to engagement on social channels, no one can beat Wendy’s — once, they replied to over 20,000 tweets! So, respond to your customers and they will keep visiting you. Ready to conquer the world of social media? There are a hundred strategies we can follow but these 9 simple strategies will make you a social media star.  They will help you stay on top of your customers’ minds, ensuring they don’t struggle to answer, “where to eat today?” Tell us in the comments which tip you loved the most.

After another round trip around the sun, the social media landscape seems to be ever-growing and shifting. Much like our goals, personalities and priorities.  And that's just nature.  Whether you believe in astrology or not – there's always this urge to check the yearly horoscope at the beginning of every year. Isn't it? Similarly, we bring you an insight into what the year 2022 will look like in terms of social media trends – somewhat like a social media horoscope ;)  So, why not get a head start into another year full of promising possibilities for creators and brands alike. #1 TikToks and Reels to Stay On Top Of the Game Do you automatically land on TikTok or Instagram to watch Reels while waiting for the dentist or the cab to pull up? Well, so do billions of people. Be it Gen Z, millennials or even "boomers"– who isn't familiar with the frenzy of these platforms?  Within 2021 alone – 45 percent of TikTok's users increased, crossing the 1 billion mark, while Instagram alone has 1.386 billion users and counting. Naturally, the scope for growing one's online identity will also expand.  So, these video platforms will remain the chief area for influencers, brands and creators – with a focus on maximizing their reach to the active target audience. #2 The Return of Long Form Content  You know how they say less is more, but sometimes you need something a bit longer for tasteful content.  In a world of quick information and shortening attention spans – we might want to bring some changes.  And that’s exactly what we’ve lined up for this year – and hopefully beyond.  Afterall, it all comes back to quality and depth.  With TikTok length increased from 60 seconds to 3 minutes, Instagram Reels from 15 to 30 seconds and captions getting the attention they deserve– there has been a concrete shift in creators’ focus.  Brands like IBM, BMW and Chevrolet used long-form content as a marketing strategy for some of their most successful campaigns.  One of IBM’s famous articles is about an athlete that went blind and eventually became a computer engineer. Being a tech company, it is fascinating that they publish long-form human interest stories to connect with and inspire audiences.  Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well” has become the longest song (10min) to take the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart – it goes without saying that people loved it. BMW has even ventured into making long ad films with narratives. Check this one out with Christoph Waltz in it. Definitely, something that gains you more social media visibility, more prolonged engagement and builds authority.  #3 Facebook Ads to Befriend Your Content  Facebook or its new avatar – Meta has 2.6 billion users with more than 7 million advertisers. Now, that’s some reach!  But successful marketing isn’t about reaching a lot of people– it’s about reaching the right ones.  The social media platform believes in it and says , “We strongly believe that the best advertising experiences are personalized.”  And Facebook ads target the demographic of your liking – as broad and as specific as you please.  So, if you’ve been seeing your ‘ideal’ products far too many times while scrolling – you know who’s been at work.  If you want to get noticed, keeping a budget aside for that isn’t a bad idea at all. #3 Audio Content On the Rise  Be it exercising on a cold winter morning, driving home from work on a traffic-congested evening or simply sipping a strong cup of tea on a quiet afternoon – portable stories and conversations in the form of audiobooks, podcasts, and even listening in on Twitter Spaces or Clubhouse make it better.  What is as intimate as listening to another human’s voice trying to “communicate” to you?  And it is simply convenient to consume content on the go.  Naturally, it was only a matter of time before brands began building online connections and serving their community with valuable conversations – Which is why audio platforms are widening their territory.  “Tuning in” has never been so rewarding – for audiences and creators alike. #4 Content Creators to Shine on LinkedIn  Do you wish to improve content marketing on LinkedIn? Well, the platform has just the right recipe for you.  While the top ingredients remain innovation and authenticity – the Creator Mode will bring a novel taste to your profile.  Not only will you be able to access LinkedIn Live and publish your articles and newsletters – you’ll be able to build your following, establish a presence and build a community. And not to mention, be discovered by ideal clients.  LinkedIn is also launching an interactive, Clubhouse-style audio events feature for creators, followed by video events – allowing creators to hold virtual round table conferences and meet-ups without relying on any third-party software.  Indeed, it is the content creators that power the platform up and initiate necessary conversations.  So, let’s consider this feature as a tribute to you all. :) #5 Customer Service– An Unavoidable Precondition Research by Bain & Company shows that obtaining a new customer costs 6 to 7 times more than what is spent on customer service and customer retention. And speedy problem solving is such a general norm for businesses now.  However, customer service isn’t just limited to problem-solving. Personalized messages, featuring customers on social handles, customized products, closely tracking customer orders, and more are all on the rise.  For instance, Adobe put out a tweet, along with a cute puppy GIF, reassuring its customers during a server outage– even before complaints came pouring in. Similarly, brands like Starbucks, Spotify and Netflix have been responding to customer complaints, praises and even exchanging witty memes on Twitter.  #6 Content Accountability– Responsible Marketing Social Media may be the flag-bearer for freedom of expression, but what happens when it makes the audiences uncomfortable? Or if some content is simply in bad taste? Audiences are actively participating in changing the narrative. They are vocal and progressive. Now, the page and platform that hosts any content are accountable.  You are responsible for what you post. And hiding behind algorithms is now a thing of the past. Here is a small example of how marketers are sensing the change in weather.  From fairness cream brands altogether changing their products when called out for toxic beauty standards to Coca-Cola launching a pro-LGBTQ campaign through its ‘Fanta’ drink and runway luxury brands celebrating plus-size models – they are joining in on the conversation.  Evidently, 2022 is bound to see more of that. #7 Social Media– From FOMO to JOMO The ‘hustle’ culture is dying, and barely anyone is mourning. Be it information overload or social comparison– a social media detox is what people are turning to. Fortunately, more and more users are disconnecting to reconnect with themselves– focusing on self-care and well-being. It has given birth to the Joy of Missing Out – a rival to FOMO.   Because people are beginning to recognize mental health flaws related to social media algorithms, trends and features – they are more aware of manipulations and the exploitation of their attention.    From Dominos declaring itself ‘The Official Food of JOMO’ and celebrating the concept of “chilling” – to KitKat encouraging its audiences to take breaks guilt-free, the trend is turning into a lifestyle. So, are you prepared to leverage these trends for your next Social Media Marketing strategy? To build a more substantial social media presence with your brand, you must adapt your social strategy according to relevant trends.  And the dimension of social media is dynamic – anything that worked out before may not now.  So, to adapt – prioritizing and strategizing is the key. Now, which of these trends do you think will function the best for you? Let us know your “why” in the comments below.

5 Basic Principles to Immediately Improve Your Social Media Content

Social media readers crave high valuable content these days that will benefit them and add value to their busy lives. With the millions of daily posts and competitors, businesses need to create scroll-stopping content to stand out in the crowd. That’s why it’s essential to continually strive to improve your social media content and strategy to keep followers’ attention. Posting only memes, quotes, and promotions will get you nowhere, and your audience will soon get bored. There are a few rules and principles you can follow to create your best content yet. Social Media Content Principles Be Informative What advice and information can you share with your audience that they can put into practice or add value to their lives? Perhaps it’s sharing actionable steps to solve a problem or a guideline on how to do a specific task. Share information that is relative, useable, and helpful. This can also include info on your product or service, how-to’s, relevant industry news, any promotions you are running, etc. Get Personal Followers and potential clients want to know that they can trust and relate to a brand or business. That’s why it is imperative to create trust and loyalty amongst your followers. Show them the face behind the company, how the business operates, behind-the-scenes access, sharing personal opinions and life experiences. Get real, don’t only show the perfect, Instagram-worthy side. Share your personal stories, values, and life experiences. This way, people can relate and feel a sense of belonging and connection to your brand. Make it Shareable If your followers love and share your content with their friends, you know you are on the right track. After all, you want more visibility, right? Think about what type of content your audience is looking for and enjoying. Focus on these!  Shareable content can be a combination of all four of the principles above. Examples include quotes, funny memes (yes, these type of posts still have their place), true stories, before & after’s, exciting news stories, etc. Strive to Inspire Most people turn to social media to take a break from the real world. We want to escape it just for a bit and perhaps find some inspirational content to lift our moods. By sharing inspirational content with your followers, you have the opportunity to have a positive impact on their lives. Content that makes them feel good, uplifts their moods, and stirs positivity can leave a lasting impression on your followers. Quotes, motivational blogs, true-life stories, ideas, and opinions (keep it light) are all inspirational content ideas. Generate Engagement Building a community and relationship with your followers is crucial. And for this, the conversation needs to be a two-way street. The more you get your followers and customers engaged, the more you will get to know their desires, needs, and problems. Generating engagement also increases your chances of being seen on the different platforms, as algorithms favor content that gets high engagement rates. Up the engagement by asking questions, starting debates, asking people to give their opinions, including CTA (call to action) requests, etc. Conclusion Always strive to provide 80% value and 20% sales in your social media content. Your content should be less about me and pushing for sales and more about your customers. How can you add value to their lives and address pain points? By creating trust, community and friendships first, followers will be more inclined to invest in your business.

Top Video Marketing Trends for 2021 To Enhance Your Marketing Strategy

Almost all businesses these days use some kind of video marketing to promote their products or services. According to Wyzowl, 92% of marketers who use video say that it’s an integral part of their marketing strategy, and for a good reason. We have a whole separate blog post on why video marketing can benefit your small business. Have a look HERE (link). Video Marketing Trends You Should Utilize in 2021 Live Streaming Live videos on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitch TV are probably one of the most engaging formats to connect with your followers. Many users see this as the most authentic type of content as it adds a human touch to digital marketing campaigns. Followers and customers feel like they are included in the moment, and it allows for direct conversation as you would have face-to-face. Algorithms tend to prioritize live content as it happens in real-time and forces users to log on to the platform. Live videos can hook users three times longer and result in six times more engagement than regular feed posts. Short-Form Videos Short-form videos like Tiktok and Instagram Reels are all the rage. Users often turn to social media to be entertained. Short-form videos that are fast-paced, energetic, raw and authentic, provide just that. With simple, no fancy frills, the less-is-more trend seems to be continuing to grow in popularity. The trick is to deliver your message in a fun, entertaining way, but also in a clever way that promotes your business. Shoppable Videos This growing trend is hugely beneficial to e-commerce businesses, where they create seamless shopping experiences for users. Shoppable videos allow the user to select and purchase a product directly from the video. They can click on a product and be directed immediately to the landing page to complete the purchase. This will massively drive engagement rates, click-through rates, and sales, as users will be more inclined to buy on the spot. Longer Storytelling Videos Ads Marketing has become all about the human connection over the last few years, especially since the worldwide pandemic hit. Internet users crave genuine, authentic content from brands that connect on a deeper personal level instead of pushing for sales. Storytelling, real-life experiences, showing daily lives and operations, and behind-the-scenes footage are great examples. Through these kinds of videos, users get to know the story behind the brand and learn to trust them. EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS AND ADS Educational videos aim the educate rather than sell. It adds to the user experience by giving more value through helpful and useful content. It addresses users’ pain points and fills a gap between the consumer and the seller. Educational videos allow for the opportunity to showcase how your product or service works, to demonstrate how-to’s, to teach something interesting, to give guidance and tips, etc. It also portrays and establishes you as an expert in your industry, creating a sense of reliability and credibility for the brand. Take Away These video marketing trends for 2021 will keep your customers hooked and make you stand out from the crowd. Consumers want instant information, and they want it delivered in a fast, fun, and helpful way. If you are looking for video marketing in the San Fransisco and Bay area, MG Media Creative is ready to help you make the best video content yet. Contact us Today!
