⁉️ Did you know that in Finland, Valentine’s Day is actually called ‘Friendship Day’? I really love this as it honors all the different relationships we have in our lives, not just the romantic ones. For me, having close and connected friendships is one of the cornerstones of my life 🙏 ⚓️ Friendships anchor me into this life in a way that gives me stability when things are hard. My friends are there when I doubt myself 😞 AND when I celebrate my success 🥳. 🙏 They support me, guide me and accept me the way I am. 🗺 They’re my GPS who guide me back to my tracks when I have lost my way or don’t see a blind spot. It hasn’t always been easy for me to trust and be vulnerable. To make a committed effort to nurture, grow and deepen my friendships. I have always been afraid that people don’t love me and accept me just the way I am. I thought that if people would truly get to know me, they’d criticize and abandon me. For many years, I built thick and impenetrable walls around me thinking I needed to protect myself from getting hurt and rejected… Until I realized that, freedom is living on the edges of our being where fear turns into love, and distrust into surrender. Only then can friendships blossom, and only then did I find my true value. I realized that the love and admiration I saw in the eyes of my friends, was reflection of who I was being. In their eyes, I found the love for myself and love for them. It wasn’t that I ‘needed’ their love, but I needed a ‘mirror’ to see what I have always been: worthy and lovable. Just like you are too my friend 😘 Let your friends be your mirror. Let them inside your heart, and most of all let yourself in there too as that is where you belong. Sending you much love & light!
