"Więcej kapuśnia...czek" !! 😋 Hehe. Yeah so I made another batch of "kapuśniak" this afternoon -- soooooo easy and will feed me for several days, hehe. Put it on leftover mashed potatoes I had from last night, and it was perfect 😺 as the kiełbasy I used from Teton Waters Ranch is a little "spicy" (and no hormones, no antibiotics! 🐮 :)) -- but that worked perfectly with the (more bland) potatoes. Sauerkraut was also a new brand for me, the one from wildbrine -- worked out well too!

I was hired in Sept. 2015 to manage social media for Wine Road. Over the years the platforms have changed in importance, but the goal has always been smart, targeted growth using original and member content. Social media also plays a big part in their their event marketing and selling tickets.  In November 2016, I began doing the PR for Wine Road and have been executing a integrated program since.

WineStopper recently stopped into J. Rickards Winery in Alexander Valley. 

Hosted by Kathleen Southworth and owner and winemaker, Jim Rickards, they were excited to share their 2019 Old Vine Zinfandel. Made from grapes from their  Brignole Vineyard, which was originally planted in 1908, the grapes are an old style field-blend of 80% Zinfandel, 10% Petite Sirah, 5% Carignane, 4% Mataro and a 1% smattering of Alicante Boushet, Muscat Canelli and Golden Chasselas. All old vine vineyards are field-blends, because the winegrower planted their own distinct blend of grape varieties to be harvested and fermented together. In those days, every grapegrower was also a winemaker, and thereby known for their signature wine blend.

The J Rickards 2019 Old Vine Zinfandel perfectly represents this historical style of wine, with bright aromas of rip fruit and sweet spice. On the palate, flavors of blackcurrant, rhubarb and baking spices lead into an extended finish of subtle vanilla. "WineStopper was in for such a treat visiting @OrsiFamilyVineyards where Chief Executive Hospitalian chose to feature the 2018 Schioppettino. "Italian roots in Sonoma County Soil" is what Orsi Family Vineyard is all about, where their 70 acres of vineyards is all about Italian varietals. 

Schioppettino means "gunshot" or "little crack" and is a red wine grape from northeast Italy. The varietal is native to Fruili-Venezia in the north east of Italy and dates back to the 13th Century. The wine is medium bodied, deeply colored, spicy on the pallet.

Visit Orsi Family Vineyards to enjoy many different Italian varietals and buy in the tasting room or online.
