The latest in the 12 Air India flight routes from India to North America, they announced they’re expanding from 3 to 4 weekly flights between Mumbai and San Francisco with the first flight taking off on 15th December. San Francisco has been Mumbai’s largest unserved market to USA/Canada, with 2019 booking data suggesting that the route had 148,000 roundtrip passengers that year. In other words, if evenly distributed across the year, it would add up to 203 passengers daily each way to/from Mumbai! Tackling change in life can be hard at times, especially when you’re settling in a whole new country. However, 33 year old professional dancer Dianne Buswell found a solution that works for her. As a matter of fact, Dianne says starting a new life in the UK boosted her confidence. Buswell emigrated from Australia to settle with her partner and brit youtuber Joseph Sugg and has been working on the BBC produced hit Dance Reality Show, Strictly Come Dancing since 2017 amongst others. Even so, she was equipped for any anxiety ridden experiences she would face. Buswell picked up anxiety alleviation techniques from her time at the BBC Drama Face The Fears. Dutch motivational speaker Wim Hof’s techniques, including the three-minute daily freezing showers and the extended breathing exercises. Here’s what she has to say about the experience: “Emigrating from Australia and leaving my family, my parents, two sisters and brother behind was a big deal for me as we’re a close-knit bunch and when I arrived in Britain I literally knew no one. Making that decision to start a new life here was tough, but it also helped boost my confidence. In early May 2022, NeighborWorks Columbus broke ground for Elliott’s Walk, a 33-acre residential development in Columbus, Georgia, USA which is also the most extensive housing development South Columbus has seen in over 50 years. Elliott’s Walk will contain 43 single-family homes, 56 multi-family homes and 130 units available for older citizens. The first phase, which is currently underway, includes 20 single family homes. The Government of Netherlands and the UN cohosted a pledging event on 11th May 2022 to raise $33 million dollars in new funding for the UN-coordinated operational plan to address the threat of a major oil spill from the FSO Safer, the decaying oil tanker moored off the coast of Yemen and holds four times the amount of oil spilled by the Exxon Valdez. A major spill would result in a humanitarian and environmental crisis and cost the region tens of billions of dollars in cleanup and economic costs. Over 200,000 Yemenis in the fishing industry could lose their livelihoods overnight and tourism could be affected as far as Egypt. Liesje Schreinemacher, the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands said, at the event: “Today has been an important step forward in eliminating the threat posed by the FSO Safer. In today’s pledging event, we managed to collect a sizeable amount. We will continue to support the UN in the month of May to gather the remaining funds needed. Many countries are showing great interest to join the effort. I am hopeful we will get there.” The planned operation comprises the installation of a replacement vessel or equivalent capacity and the emergency operation to transfer the oil to a safe temporary vessel. The plan would cover the salaries of a crew to maintain the leased temporary vessel until the long-term solution is implemented. Other donors signing pledging commitments are Germany, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Qatar, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
