Even if your podcast has only one follower, your show made an impact in some way. Maybe they learned something, or maybe you gave them a fresh perspective. Even if you just made them smile, that's a success. Keep going! 🎉

I watched EVERY episode of Gilmore Girls and it's now a personal favorite of mine. It was a mental break, a way for shutting down and resting my brain at the end of the day. 💁🏻♀️ (Any Gilmore Girls fans out here??) A couple other favs that were SO GOOD: Schitts Creek & Start Up! ... And then, of course, there was Bling Empire, Selling Sunset, and Love is Blind (hello trash TV LOL) Streaming shows for me was a form of ESCAPISM. --> Which btw, might sound like a 'bad' thing- but it doesn't have to be. Here's the thing: OUR HUMAN BRAINS ARE DESIGNED TO SEEK PLEASURE AND AVOID PAIN. (It's part of something called the Motivational Triad!) In short, it makes TOTAL sense for us as humans to seek forms of 'Escapism'. Not only is our brain's evolutional motivational triad at play, but as women, we're also socialized to constantly be productive and tending to the needs of others... it's no wonder most of us actually need to LEARN HOW to rest our brains and give ourselves permission to DO 'nothing'. One of the biggest issues brought to me by clients is this: 'I just don't know how to relax and unwind without food at the end of the day/week'... I can't tell you how many women I've coached have told me that they feel like they don't know how to relax or unwind, or turn off their brain; and that their ONLY method of escapism involves food. Now, I'd like to emphasize that the purpose of this is not to judge yourself or your forms of escapism. 🚫 The goal is to understand your mind, your brain, your choices, actions and results so that you can do it ON PURPOSE. (That's the most important part) To create what you want to create.✅ It's about UNDERSTANDING your brain and your choices. ✅ If you feel like food is your only means of escapism, I wanna invite you to diversify your choices...to explore other means of escapism on purpose that work for YOU. It's super important that we teach our brain how to relax, unwind, decompress and have other means of escapism that fit into your life; that contribute to your life in a way that works for you. I love the idea of not judging our means of escapism, and I love the idea of making decisions on purpose. To understand how to choose forms of escapism that work for you, tune in to this week's podcast: https://qoo.ly/3cspcy

You know it’s a funny thing: ‘words’. I write words for a living... I speak words for a living... I even listen to, and hold space for, my client's words for a living… I guess we could say, I’m pretty damn good with words 🤓👀 And yet- When it comes to certain moments… when I’m thinking about certain people, and certain things… my heart swells up (my eyes usually do too!) and I feel like there’s just not much I can possibly say. Today, Father's day, happens to be one of those days. They say pictures are worth 1000 words. I think they’re worth more. Happy Father's day. I couldn’t be more thankful. ❤️

WAY TOO MANY women are feeling stuck in their relationship with their bodies, with weight and food. We feel shamed for NOT losing weight. We feel shamed if we DO lose weight. 🤷🏻♀️ We feel shamed for feeling great about ourselves (aka ‘she’s too much’’). We feel shamed if we DO have a personal goal and wanna lose some weight. There’s SO. MUCH. SHAME. & feelings of inadequacy either way. 😔 And I want to change that...✋🏻 I want a world where each woman has FULL AUTONOMY over how she wants to show up. 🥰 I can tell you from experience (at one point I weighed almost 200 lbs) I know what it’s like to be told that I looked pregnant (when I wasn’t), to be called an elephant (literally) to my face, and be told by a stranger I should join Jenny Craig. That wasn’t fun. 👎🏻 But, it also isn’t fun being judged for ordering a salad, being judged for being ‘too confident, ‘too full of herself or being called ‘too skinny’ in the body that I just happen to LOVE SO VERY MUCH. If you're ready to drop the shame and show up the way YOU want to, check out my podcast roadmap. 🎙️ Tons of listeners have lost their LAST 10 POUNDS simply by applying what I teach on the podcast, and I want you to experience next-level weight loss results you love as well! 💕 Download it here: https://qoo.ly/3cr8rc

People think that weight loss is about discipline… I STRONGLY disagree. Being ‘more strict’ and feeling more deprived doesn't work for most people… and certainly wasn't what 'worked' for me! 🚫 INSTEAD, it's about the ability to enjoy the things you love WHILE ALSO still listening to your body, and staying connected with YOURSELF, your goals, and the things you want in your life. It's actually about REBUILDING TRUST with yourself! 🥰 In my world (aka The Last 10 approach) creating the weight loss results you want is built on the foundation of re-establishing (& re-claiming!) TRUST and CONNECTION. Trust and connection with yourself. Trust and connection with your body. Ready?? Learn more about my Last 10™ Program here: https://qoo.ly/3cqphy

Each day is a new chance to be better. Keep growing! You’re trying to start your group practice, but you’re getting stuck. You’ve scoured the inter web and the black hole of Facebook groups to research and find the answers to your group practice startup questions, but all you get is even more confused. Everyone’s giving different answers, and you don’t know where to start.

What did you learn about yourself while running your business during a pandemic? The past year has not been easy for business owners. It's already tough leading a team, but to do it during a pandemic? Tough! Share what you've learned, group practice owners! Your employee handbook should be more than just a random document of general information and corporate jargon. This is an opportunity to really set your employees up for success, so everyone is on the same page and your group practice is running smoothly. Niki Ramirez joins me in this week's podcast to talk about the employee handbook. She’s my HR person in my own group practice, and she also owns https://qoo.ly/3cfa3v, as well as being an Q&A facilitator inside The Exchange Membership. In this podcast episode we talk about: ✅ What to avoid when writing your employee handbook ✅ How often you should be reviewing the handbook and making adjustments ✅ How to present it to new employees and make sure you both are on the same page as far as expectations ✅ And how to avoid misunderstandings when it comes to technicalities and policy/regulations Tune in here: https://lnkd.in/gGgWWRz

One of the most difficult things to accept as a business owner is shifting from feeling like you need to know everything, to actually being okay with not knowing everything. Drop a ✋ if you struggle with this. I certainly do. I thought being a leader means you should carry everything on your plate. That you should be an expert on EVERYTHING. But I realized, after years of owning a group practice, that it's actually ok to NOT know everything. A good leader is someone who can accept their limitations. They are willing to share responsibility and recognize talent in their team. My advice? Find someone who rocks at what you don't rock at. [Visual Description: Photo of Maureen holding a cup.]

Running your own business can be one of the most life-changing experiences you will ever have. You are not only improving your professional skills. There's a lot of personal development that happens as well. That being said, growth is uncomfortable. I know how scary change can be. So I'm sharing with you what that I learned about growth that has helped me as a business owner. [ Visual Description: White background with text: What I Learned About Growth as a Group Practice Owner (1) Be intentional with your growth. (2) Serve a greater purpose. (3) Know your why. (4) Be OK with change. (5)As you evolve as a leader, so will your goals. ]
