Orange Bird was created because of a sincere belief that marketing can be used as a force for good, to catalyze climate action. So we felt incredibly privileged to be able to recently present a panel discussion on sustainable marketing, by bringing together a range of marketing and sustainability experts from the International Chamber of Commerce, ZeroAvia, Native, a Public Benefit Corporation, EcoTree, Ecoloo Group, and TerraCycle US. No professional and responsible marketer should resort to generating demand. 👉 Tackling climate change doesn’t have to be at the expense of profits or other commercial goals. 👉 Embracing circularity will create new growth and commercial opportunities for a company. How can marketing help solve the climate crisis instead of stimulating it? It is a question we ask ourselves everyday in our sustainability marketing agency. On November 18, 2022 we’ll explore this question with Head of Sustainability of the International Chamber of Commerce and business leaders of 5 different climate solutions companies including ZeroAvia, TerraCycle US, EcoLoo, Native, a Public Benefit Corporation, EcoTree International, and our own founder of Orange Bird Alena Kuzniatsova during our panel discussion at the #BizClimateAction Forum. What do you feel when you realize that something you aspired and longed for has come true? What do you call that sensation? Share it in the comments! Orange Bird’s founder Alena Kuzniatsova, the Digibird, shared this with us: “The other day our lead copywriter was taken to hospital, and not to cancel the interview that was scheduled for that day with our new client (we needed their founder’s input for creating a new brand identity and a new website for this client), I took over and conducted the interview myself. It was such an inspiration for me… I was listening to the client, got enthusiastic about their vision and technology, and recollected my own aspirations and hopes that led to the foundation of Orange Bird. Our new client, Rivus Batteries, is an innovative company that has been investing years of thought, research, and effort into developing 100% sustainable energy storage. And it all began somewhere in 2017 out of their founder’s burning desire to help solve climate problems. By now they have gone through thousands of experiments and challenges to deliver batteries that are much more ecological, affordable and scalable than mainstream lithium and vanadium batteries. Exactly what is needed to enable the energy transition and to stop burning fossil fuels! 🤘 Similarly, our agency was founded in 2017 after I got overwhelmed with the articles and books about the climate crisis and its consequences on all of us. I started to seek ways to become part of the solution and thought along these lines: “I cannot invent clean technologies to enable the energy transition and terminate burning fossil fuels for our economy, but what if I and other experienced marketers join forces with climate technology innovators and help them succeed and replace polluting products?” During the interview, I realized that my aspiration to serve companies with valuable climate solutions has come true and now such companies from different countries find us themselves and, after working with us, refer us to new climate innovators. It felt like: “Wow, the dreams really come true!...” So it does make sense to dream and to aspire! I only wish more and more people join the sustainability movement and start acting. We cannot wait till the climate problems wipe out humanity and other species. Climate solutions exist! We just need to embrace and scale them. And here I call upon other marketers to follow suit and help climate innovators.
