With tremendous team effort and the help of sponsors, community supporters, and attendees, HoHoTO raised $22,500 in support of YWCA Toronto’s Girls’ Centre at the annual HoHoTO holiday benefit party. The HoHoTO team presented the girls with the big red and white cheque on the HoHoTO stage last Thursday. Here are the event highlights.

At the 9th annual holiday party of the year led by the digital community, over $10,000 was raised for YWCA Toronto's Girls' Centre! Thank you to all those that came out to support a great cause. Together is shaping a more inclusive digital community with events and initiatives such as We are TO, HoHoTO, Girls’ Tech Tour, Disrupting with Digital, and Mentor Together.

How can we use design and contrarian thinking to overcome historical bias and inter-racial blocks? Always looking at the human and the systems that surround us, what we have neglected to do is to stop, be still, and understand the causes for the problems we are trying to solve. While action seems to be the only true recourse, acting with haste or urgency creates blind spots and often poor decisions. Problem-reaction-solution historically does not bring us to a better place.
