Instagram has introduced this new (*cough* TikTok-ripoff *cough*) feature and they are heavily promoting it right now.
Just like when they introduced stories, this means that the other types of content on Instagram are getting less visibility. They are hoping to lure pushing everyone towards the use of reels, so that it gets populated quickly and will become a standard way of producing & consuming content.
𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠?
Not necessarily.
If you DO hop on the reels-wagon right now, you could get massive exposure. Reels are pushed towards the Instagram users now, and many people are curious about them. That means more eyeballs and bigger visibility.
And no, you don’t HAVE TO dance.

💡 Anything you’re doing that requires time, then play it at super high speed (e.g. a day in your life, an art or crafting project, etc)

In short, how to make Instagram work for you, instead of the other way around.
I focus mostly on organic growth and have grown, for example @MalingAcademy from the ground up without any ad spend.
I believe social media needs to be used for its original purpose: to BE SOCIAL. Yes, even for a business account that is simply the very best way to connect with clients (a.k.a. PEOPLE) and get results from your hard work.
