The added functionality of allowing members to purchase and renew their membership online through their website has automated their processes and saved their team hours of administration. Introducing our next participant spotlight... Keyla Fajardo! 🎉

Some of her hobbies include going out to dinner with her kids, going to the beach, and being with her family. When it comes to her inspiration for completing the program, she stated "I want to be a role model for my kids and younger siblings. I have two girls and one boy, ages 4, 8, and 10."

When asked what was one of the obstacles she is working on overcoming, she stated "Getting my own place again. I recently had to move back home but I really want to be able to have my own space soon.".

If she could give one piece of wisdom to the next cohort it would be: "I would say to not be scared of a challenge. When I first applied to SoCal PreApprenticeship, I was nervous, but it’s good to be open to growing, learning, and being stretched. Things you learn now can always come back later and will be useful.".

Giving this startup a full brand package, they were able to launch with a solid website design, marketing plan, social media content preplanned and scheduled, and they hit the internet running. All they need to focus on is coffee inventory, roasting, and events. We occasionally create more social media content for them when they pass off videos or photos to us, and we curate a library of shared memes that they can use moving forward.

Did you know?.. coffee beans go through a sorting processes to remove defective beans.

Our SUMATRA MANDHELING last week often is "Double Picked" or "Triple Picked" and it basically means they sort it for defects twice or three times.

Double picked (DP) or triple picked (TP) typically has more aftertaste and earthiness -- not dirt road dusty murkiness, but rich satisfying lingering aftertaste.

If you use the pour over method to brew, have you tried a mesh filter instead of the paper filter? We'd love to hear your comparison and experience below ☕

When we brew and sample coffee for events, our preferred method is a pour over with a mesh filter, to allow the tasting notes to really shine through. Paper filters have a tendency to dull the notes that we take great care to specifically roast the bean to a certain temp and crack to bring forward.

This sums up the Facebook platform and algorithm perfectly. Even 2 years later. 

Your posts by default don’t get many views on the platform. Business pages are even worse.

The question then is, do you put the effort aside or on pause. No. Even a small amount of activity consitently is beneficial, both from the algorithm perspective but more importantly to your target audience. 

Many people check social profiles for activity to verify if an online business or website is actually real or if it’s a scam. They also check it for business information or updates sometime before thinking of checking the website.  

You can use analytics to see exactly where your audience meets you at online, as well as the demographics and many other things.

Here's something we don't come across often, but we're happy to investigate and find solutions. This may not be something that works best in most cases; with heavy traffic websites we recommend building out a more sustainable solution like a forms process or membership website. But, sometimes starting small scale and building up to something custom is what works for a lot of our clients and we're happy to be here for their growth.

Does your team spend a lot of time managing new subscribers, checking when they expire, and sending emails for renewals? What about needing tons of storage space for webinar or conference playbacks and creating a library or archive in your online members area?

It may be a great time to consider having your website handle all that for you, allowing your team more time to be productive elsewhere. 

If you still need to accept checks by mail, that's an option too. And, the website will still be able to send them an email reminder about their upcoming renewal or expiration - reducing the need to manually manage your membership list.
