Congratulations to Richelle Payne, M.A., CCP, Partner at Ascendant, for being awarded PRNEWS Top Women in PR Changemaker Award! PR News honored the 2022 Top Women as they are “supportive, innovative, inspiring women making an impact on their organization, whether that's leading the brand out of a crisis, breaking into new markets, engaging a new audience, or mentoring other colleagues.” Richelle helped expand Ascendant Group’s operations across the U.S., helping lead the firm to be ranked the #1 minority owned PR agency two years in a row.. She also helped the firm refine its model for working with best-selling authors; former and current executives; and former professional athletes transitioning to entrepreneurship. She also helped grow the agency’s faith-based service division. Outside of her agency work, Richelle created the Presidents Circle for the National Black Public Relations Society, which encourages past presidents to serve as mentors to chapter presidents. The Presidents Circle is poised to launch Black PR Pros, an initiative to address retention and promotion of senior PR leaders. Richelle is also actively engaged in a number of philanthropic endeavors to extensive to mention. We salute Richelle for all her hard work professionally and in the community.

Jeff Bezos, CEO & Founder of Amazon, suggests that a brand, like a reputation, is something that is earned over time through hard work and dedication. A company's brand is the overall image and identity it projects to the world. It is built through the products or services it offers, its values, and how it interacts with customers and other stakeholders. To establish a strong brand, a company must strive to consistently deliver high-quality products or services and meet the needs of its customers. Similarly, an individual's reputation is based on their actions and behavior, which is earned through their efforts to do things well and be respected by others. In both cases, a strong reputation or brand is built over time through consistent effort and a commitment to excellence.
