On Saturday 27 March 2021, some important changes were introduced into the Fair Work Act 2009, through the Fair Work Amendment (Supporting Australia’s Jobs and Economic Recovery) Act 2021. The new legal obligations for employers include: a Casual Employment Information Statement for distribution, a new definition of casual employment to be observed and a standard ‘pathway’ for casuals to become permanent employees.
