This year marks the first time in US history that a holiday celebrated in the black community since 1866 is officially recognized by the entire country. For many of us at Foundry512, especially those of us with historical ties to this moment in history, we want to recognize and support such culturally significant and yet uniquely American legacy. The 13th Amendment brought around a huge change in the American landscape, helping to join two competing ideologies together under one flag. And like MLK’s dream, we support and continue to push forward the creativity, talent, culture, and the people who have stood as a backbone of our country since its founding. It is our ambition to provide the creative and entrepreneurial opportunities that we earned to everyone on the basis of their talent, creativity, and content of their character. This is America.
