Meet Aishwarya Iyer, founder & CEO of Brightland ✨ Aishwarya’s journey to her own pantry essentials brand, Brightland, began t in the kitchen. When Aishwarya and her husband started getting into cooking, they expected that they would improve their well-being and boost their confidence; instead, they had a bad experience. After eliminating foods like bread and cheese, they discovered the culprit was the olive oil they had been using. With the cooking experience she had, Aishwarya did some research on the olive oil industry and ran into a history of problems. She discovered that not all oils are made equally, and learned what made good and bad quality products. This inspired her to start her own brand of olive oil sourced from family-owned farms in California, which was born out of the desire for time-honored food production and a deep belief in land and what it provides. At its launch in 2018, Brightland sold out of its inventory within a week and built a 1,000 person waiting list. Since then, partnerships have fueled Brightland’s continued growth and success. They have partnered with companies like sweetgreen, Hedley & Bennett, and more. The company has since expanded into new products including vinegar and is stocked across more than 700 stores.
