Today's tiny but mighty sales and copywriting tips for anyone that wants to disrupt the inbox and build relationships quicker! ✔️ Do keep your words precise and concise. Attention spans are short, say what you need to in the first two lines of your copy. For Meta copy writers or advertisers, a good rule is, ➡ What it is ➡ What it does ➡ What the transformation is. Keep everything else below the visibility / scroll more / see more fold. Writing cold emails for B2B Sales emails or LinkedIn DM’s? ❌ Don’t ask the reader to work. Take the scissors to early stage questions that require the receiver to do extra lifting to help you. Eg: “Who is” “Should I” “What are” - Literally no one wants to spend the time answering your questions. 😵 💀✂️ ✔️ Do get clever with email subject lines. It’s your power move, and you're competing with 100’s of e-mails a day. Make it count. ✔ Do use Emojis, there is so much untapped emoji potential in the world. I am still discovering emojis I never knew existed. Like 🧶 and 🥧 Who knew? We love emojis because they disrupt the inbox scan and draw attention. ♟ 🌵 🦊 ✔ Do use personalization! Our open rates are always insanely better when we include a "First Name" personalization in the subject line. ✔Do surprise and delight! Words are magic, bring that creativity to your messaging. Today's tiny but mighty tip for any #founders or anyone that has an idea that involves selling online. ⚡️You MUST factor marketing into your cost / plan / manifesto! It sounds like a no-brainer, but it's easy to forget to include! There may be some unicorns out there that have been able to scale without paid advertising, but the reality is, you will need it in the wheelhouse. Thus, when you're creating your retail pricing strategy after the cost of production and operations, you'll need to slap a number on top of that for advertising. 👩🏾💻 👉🏽.. let's say somewhere between $8-$15 (on a good day) 👩🏾💻 👉🏽 Logically this means that pricing your product below that benchmark number is going to make it VERY hard to get to profitability. *Unless you are hitting volume sales quickly. 👩🏾💻 👉🏽 You can mitigate this founder trauma early, by factoring in CPA + production cost + operations + your profit margin % that you want to take home. > Research your niche, what is the highest pricing point the market can take for this item? BONUS Damage Control 👩🏾💻 👉🏽 Consider how many times your item will be purchased in a year. Do you have anything else in the pipeline to get that cart value ⬆️ 👉🏽 The higher the cart value the better the ROAS. ⚡️ 🔥 If the numbers don't match, walk away, you'll have another great idea! Today's tiny but mighty tip for any #B2B company, or solopreneur that has a product that involves selling #wholesale or activating third party distribution eg: Dr’s offices, gyms, grocery stores, market places. Search and Social Marketing is not a replacement for a direct B2B sales strategy! In these cases Search and Social marketing should be used to support your salesperson or sales team, they should never exist without each other. ❌ You WILL NOT GROW 🌳 your business without a sales strategy in place. "They’ll find us online", is simply not a plan. If you are reading this and your brain is 😵💫 here are 3 simple things that you can start with to GET on the horse, improve or create a process and close more deals! 💰 👩🏾💻 Get organized. Add all your potential and current prospects to a customer relationship management tool. (CRM) ⚡️We really like HubSpot as a starting point. It lets you do A LOT for free and it’s pretty simple to set up. 👩🏾💻 Create 3 “template” emails. Keep them short and to the point. You don’t need an essay. Introduction, follow up, and break up. There’s tons of resources on this topic in the world. We like Tom Boston for content and creativity on this topic. Keenan also has some good insights for method and tactics. 👩🏾💻Tracking & Follow up. We can’t tell you how many people respond to me and say “thanks for following up” - So many deals get lost because we abandon the follow up. 🔍 When you're detailed with scheduling and tracking your correspondence you’ll be more successful. Tracking feels a bit spooky at first, but it takes the pain out of all that “wondering” if an email was received or opened.
